Prospech (ASX:PRS) gets high-grade Slovakian rocks
Prospech has confirmed high-grade copper, cobalt, nickel and silver at Kolba and nearby Svatodusna prospects in Slovakia.
A diamond drilling campaign is underway on both prospects, and assays from 39 high-grade mullock heap rock-chip samples have come in at an impressive 8.22% copper, 4,650ppm cobalt and 2.73% nickel.
Prospech Managing Director Jason Beckton said the high grades encountered so far could be just the tip of the iceberg.
“Historical reports indicate that the Kolba miners selectively sorted their ore by hand, meaning that only the highest-grade ore was sent for smelting,” Mr Beckton said.
“Consequently, the samples collected by our geologists likely represent the reject material, implying that higher grades may be anticipated in situ.”
“The collected samples have provided valuable insights into the mineralisation style, leading us to conclude that a significant portion of the mineralisation is conformable with the schistosity of the phyllite host,” he added.
Previous drilling delays have been resolved, according to the Company, and they anticipate making further progress in the coming weeks.
