Lindian Resources (ASX:LIN) | ANSTO Confirms High 98% NdPr Extraction

Episode: Lindian Resources Limited (ASX:LIN) - ANSTO Validates Kangankunde Downstream Processing Flowsheet In this episode of MarketOpen's Trading Titan podcast, we examine Lindian Resources Limited's operational update released on 15 July 2026, covering the independent validation of the Kangankunde downstream processing flowsheet by the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO). Key facts covered in this episode: ANSTO has completed and independently validated the full downstream processing route, from Kangankunde monazite concentrate through to specification mixed rare earth carbonate (MREC). The largest validation test achieved 98% neodymium praseodymium (NdPr) extraction and 96% total rare earth plus yttrium (TREY) extraction, with approximately 96% overall NdPr recovery from concentrate through to final MREC. The pregnant leach solution reached 21.1 g/L TREY, the highest solution tenor achieved during the ANSTO program. Purification removed 99.6% of phosphorus, 99% of iron, and more than 95% of the remaining aluminium. Carbonate precipitation recovered more than 99.9% of the dissolved rare earths. The final MREC graded 48.6 wt% TREO+Y, with ThO₂ at 0.002 wt% and U₃O₈ below 0.001 wt%. ANSTO confirmed the final MREC is exempt from radioactive transport and handling under applicable IAEA standards, with uranium, thorium and associated decay chain radionuclides, including Actinium 227, below analytical detection limits. ANSTO confirmed a dedicated uranium removal circuit is not required for the tested Kangankunde concentrate. Lindian says the validated operating conditions can now be directly applied to the existing SARECO processing facility in Kazakhstan. No new capital raising was announced. What this means for investors According to Lindian, the independently validated processing flowsheet, certification that the final MREC is exempt from radioactive transport and handling under applicable IAEA standards, the existing SARECO processing facility in Kazakhstan, and an established sulphuric acid supply arrangement provide the engineering basis to move from process validation towards implementation of its downstream strategy. Next milestones to watch Recommissioning of the SARECO processing facility in Kazakhstan. Optimisation of the SARECO processing facility. Implementation of the validated processing flowsheet using Kangankunde concentrate. Ongoing engineering, commissioning and operational optimisation activities. Continued optimisation work with the objective of reducing reagent consumption. Disclaimer: This podcast is for information purposes only. Nothing in this episode constitutes financial advice.
