Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) returns to Burtville East to expand bonanza-grade gold discovery
Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) is back at Burtville East, launching a 2,000m drill program to expand on its previous bonanza-grade gold discoveries in the Laverton goldfields.
With a track record of high-grade intercepts and near-surface mineralisation, the company is targeting extensions to known gold zones while assessing stockpiles for near-term monetisation.
Chasing Extensions of a Proven Gold System
Burtville East has already delivered exceptional grades, including:
- 15m at 53.94g/t Au from 27m, inc. 1m at 478.00g/t Au
- 6m at 28.66g/t Au from 44m, inc. 1m at 127.00g/t Au
- 8m at 15.29g/t Au from 68m, inc. 1m at 56.00g/t Au
This new drilling campaign aims to test for extensions to these high-grade zones while also probing historic workings for future bulk sampling opportunities.
Panther Metals Managing Director Daniel Tuffin is confident in the project’s growth potential:
“Our analysis of last quarter’s drill campaign, which returned further bonanza-grade intercepts, underscored the project’s potential and the need for additional funding to further explore for any potential gold extensions at Burtville East and capitalise on the current strong gold price.”
Stockpile Potential Adds Another Dimension
In addition to extending mineralisation, Panther Metals is also investigating high-grade gold stockpiles left behind from historic mining, which could provide early cash flow opportunities.
The company is conducting metallurgical and mineralogical studies to evaluate processing potential, further strengthening the project’s commercial viability.
What’s Next?
With drilling now underway, Panther Metals is taking a multi-faceted approach to advancing Burtville East.
The program is focused on testing for extensional zones, probing historic workings for future bulk sampling, and assessing high-grade stockpiles for potential monetisation.
If the current program confirms further extensions, the project could shape up as a major asset in the Laverton goldfields, one of Australia’s most prolific gold-producing regions.
Investors will be watching closely as results from the drill bit come in.
