OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) reports up to 60.0% CaF₂ at North Horseshoe Canyon
OD6 Metals has reported a new high grade fluorspar zone at North Horseshoe Canyon within its 100% owned Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, USA, following reconnaissance mapping and selective rock chip sampling.

Rock chip assays returned up to 60.0% CaF₂, with additional results of 57.3%, 51.0%, 21.4% and 18.5% CaF₂.
Fluorspar mineralisation outcrops over approximately 100m of strike at North Horseshoe Canyon.
A sample collected 200m farther north returned 6.2% CaF₂.
The announcement identifies a 1.5km target area extending from Horseshoe through North Horseshoe Canyon to Big Jim and Spar.
Drilling is planned across North Horseshoe Canyon and the adjoining corridors.
The results follow a soil sampling program announced on 1 July 2026, which recorded 5 samples containing more than 20,000ppm fluorine at North Horseshoe Canyon.
Subsequent reconnaissance identified fluorspar outcropping at the base of a jasperoid interpreted to be the Saw Mill Thrust.
Mineralisation is exposed over approximately 100m of strike before passing beneath talus slope cover to the north.
The base of the zone is also concealed by talus cover, meaning its thickness cannot be determined from the work reported.
A sample collected 200m farther north returned 6.2% CaF₂, which the announcement states indicates a continuation.
A separate rock chip collected from an outcrop 150m south of North Horseshoe Canyon returned 60.0% CaF₂.
The outcrop is approximately 450m along strike from Horseshoe and, according to the announcement, may represent a replacement style system and continuation of Horseshoe, a potential continuation of North Horseshoe Canyon, or both.
The geological interpretation presented by OD6 indicates that the mineralised structure may continue for approximately 750m northeast beneath the lithocap towards Big Jim.
The Saw Mill Thrust reliably outcrops at North Horseshoe Canyon and Big Jim, with strong mineralisation associated with both exposed locations.
This interpretation defines prospective ground extending from Horseshoe through North Horseshoe Canyon to Big Jim and Spar.
North Horseshoe Canyon is now a direct drill target, while the ground beneath the lithocap and the corridor extending south towards Horseshoe are also included in drill planning.
OD6 Managing Director Brett Hazelden said:
“Drilling will determine whether the mineralised zones connect and establish their thickness and grade beneath cover.”
An oxidised felsic intrusive has also been observed at North Horseshoe Canyon and, although it is not a target, samples returned anomalous fluorspar values of 0.3% to 0.4% CaF₂.
Strong fluorspar pathfinders were identified in soils along its contact, which forms part of the northeast extensional target at the Horseshoe deposit.
The preliminary drill designs target west dipping mineralised lodes beneath and west of the North Horseshoe Canyon outcrop.
They also cover the interpreted continuation below the lithocap towards Big Jim and the prospective corridor between Horseshoe and North Horseshoe Canyon.
The Quinn Fluorspar Project comprises 226 mining claims covering approximately 1,890 hectares and contains more than 20 fluorspar occurrences.
An 8km mineralised corridor has been confirmed, with additional high grade fluorine anomalies identified outside the known deposits.
The project contains multiple drill targets defined through geological mapping, fluorine geochemistry, structural interpretation and historical drilling.
The announcement also states that low impurity mineralisation supports potential production of premium Acidspar containing more than 97% CaF₂ and Metspar products following beneficiation.
Permitting work is under way, including environmental baseline studies, archaeological studies and the preparation of drilling and bulk sample approvals.
Metallurgical testwork is advancing through optical sorting and beneficiation studies to optimise premium product recoveries.
Further work is planned to include geological mapping, soil sampling, rock sampling and drilling, with no drilling results or mineralised widths reported from North Horseshoe Canyon and the reported rock chip samples being selective by nature.
