OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) reports gold assays from Quinn Fluorspar Project exploration
OD6 Metals has reported gold assays from exploration activities at its Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, with sampling undertaken during fluorspar exploration identifying gold anomalism across several areas of the project.
The company reported gold assays from the Mammoth area, alongside gold and pathfinder element anomalies identified through soil sampling at Mammoth, North Horseshoe Canyon and Dress Circle.
Highlights
Gold assays returned results of up to 6.31g/t Au, 2.74g/t Au, 2.23g/t Au and 1.61g/t Au from outcrop in the footwall west of the main Mammoth Fluorspar breccia.
Multiple additional samples returned gold assays above 0.5g/t Au.
Gold and pathfinder element anomalies were identified across Mammoth, North Horseshoe Canyon and Dress Circle through soil sampling.
The Quinn Project includes a large epithermal alteration cell spanning 8km strike length.
OD6 remains focused on drilling and advancing fluorspar prospects at Mammoth, Horseshoe and Big Jim, while progressing North Horseshoe, Blue Bell and other regional targets.
The Quinn Fluorspar Project is located approximately 220km north of Las Vegas, Nevada.
OD6 announced the exercise of the option agreement to acquire the project on 9 June 2026, with the project hosting high grade fluorspar mineralisation identified at the Mammoth and Horseshoe projects.
The mineralisation has been mapped over areas of 9,000m² and 3,000m² respectively, while historical rock chip results from the wider project area have returned results of up to 98.6% CaF₂.
Recent channel sampling at Mammoth returned gold assays from rock samples, including 6.31g/t Au, 2.74g/t Au, 2.23g/t Au and 1.61g/t Au, with four additional samples returning between 0.51g/t Au and 0.8g/t Au.
The company reported that the gold appears to be associated with a stockwork vein system to the west of the main fluorspar breccia zone, with the anomalous zone measuring at least 50m by 50m and remaining open to the south, north and west.
Soil sampling across the Quinn Project identified additional gold and pathfinder element anomalies, with North Horseshoe Canyon returning five samples greater than 20ppb Au and results of up to 44ppb Au alongside arsenic and mercury anomalies, while Dress Circle soil sampling identified an anomaly approximately 400m by 150m with results of up to 77ppb Au.
The Dress Circle area returned a soil anomaly approximately 400m by 150m, with soil samples greater than 20ppb Au and results of up to 77ppb Au, alongside arsenic and mercury anomalism.
The company stated that its primary focus remains exploration and development of the fluorspar deposits at the Quinn Project.
Following the identification of gold results, OD6 will continue to assay for gold throughout its exploration programs and consider the gold potential, while stating that the gold zones do not currently appear to be directly co-mingled with the fluorspar ore.
OD6 Managing Director Brett Hazelden said the company’s primary objective remains developing the fluorspar project at Quinn.
“Importantly, the gold mineralisation appears separate from the fluorspar, preserving the quality of the fluorspar deposits while opening another avenue for value creation.”
OD6’s next steps at Quinn include receipt and interpretation of pending assay results, geological modelling and drill targeting, ongoing geological and structural mapping, expanded field programs, identification and prioritisation of drill targets, integration into permitting activities, metallurgical testwork, bulk sample permit applications, preparation of a maiden drilling program, resource definition and development studies.
