OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) expands Mammoth target by more than 50%

OD6 Metals has expanded the interpreted footprint of its Mammoth target within the Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada from approximately 9,000m² to more than 14,000m², following revised geological mapping and sampling across the mineralised area.

Highlights

Mammoth represents a different target style from the nearby Horseshoe and Big Jim prospects, where OD6 has identified high grade fluorspar mineralisation through its recent exploration and sampling programs.

Following several field campaigns, OD6 revised its geological mapping of the Mammoth area, identifying fluorspar quartz breccia around Middle Bench 3 alongside zones of intense stockwork and vein mineralisation in altered, silicified limestone.

The target is inferred as a steeply dipping breccia and stockwork body within a dilational zone between strike slip fault zones trending northeast to southwest.

Channel sampling across the excavated benches returned broad intervals of fluorspar mineralisation.

The Middle Bench area produced 44m at 29% CaF₂, comprising 32m at 24.1% CaF₂ from Middle4 Bench with a maximum assay of 54% CaF₂ and 12m at 42% CaF₂ from Middle3 Bench with a maximum assay of 58.4% CaF₂.

Upper2 Bench returned 33m at 15.2% CaF₂, including 3m at 22.1% CaF₂, 14m at 19.4% CaF₂ and 8m at 14.8% CaF₂.

Upper1 Bench produced 22m at 20.1% CaF₂, including 12m at 27.9% CaF₂ and 3m at 24% CaF₂, while Lower1 Bench returned 15m at 20.5% CaF₂, including 14m at 21.2% CaF₂.

Additional channel results included 12m at 13.2% CaF₂ from Adit1 Bench, 11m at 14.3% CaF₂ from Middle1 Bench and 12m at 18.3% CaF₂ from Middle2 Bench.

The base intercepts were calculated over the full collected length with no cut off applied, while the included intersections used a 10% CaF₂ cut off.

Separate rock chip samples returned 78.3% CaF₂ from intense purple fluorspar, 54.5% CaF₂ from breccia limestone with fluorspar and 53.4% CaF₂ from fluorspar breccia.

OD6 states that the widths and continuity demonstrated across 5 separate benches are consistent with a bulk tonnage style target rather than a narrow vein system.

The mineralised system remains open to the east beneath talus cover and to the north, where it appears to plunge beneath a silicified limestone cap.

The southern tail mapped by Evans in 1975 remains untested, with the identified extensions planned to be assessed through drilling.

OD6 Managing Director Brett Hazelden commented:

“The next step is drilling. This will allow us to test the geometry, grade continuity and depth extent of the system and, importantly, begin determining the true scale of Mammoth.”

The wider Quinn Fluorspar Project comprises 226 mining claims covering approximately 1,890 hectares under 100% OD6 ownership.

It contains more than 20 fluorspar occurrences, an 8km mineralised corridor and multiple priority drill targets defined through geological mapping, fluorine geochemistry, structural interpretation and historical drilling.

Permitting work is under way, including environmental baseline studies, archaeological studies and preparation of drilling and bulk sample approvals.

Optical sorting and beneficiation studies are also progressing to assess processing pathways for Metspar and potential Acidspar grade products above 97% CaF₂.

Acidspar prices increased by approximately 29% over the preceding 3 quarters to US$654/t in July 2026, according to ChemAnalyst.

The United States remains 100% reliant on imported fluorspar, which is included on the US Critical Minerals list.
