OD6 Metals (ASX:OD6) adds Blue Bell to Quinn’s priority fluorspar targets
OD6 Metals has confirmed fluorspar mineralisation at Blue Bell, approximately 12km south of Horseshoe within its Quinn Fluorspar Project in Nevada, USA.
Maiden surface channel sampling returned 24m at 51.1% CaF₂, providing the company’s initial substantive exploration results outside the original Horseshoe, Big Jim and Mammoth areas, following the expansion of its mineral claims announced on 23 June 2026.
Highlights
Additional channel results included 28m at 29.2% CaF₂, including 8m at 50.7% CaF₂, and 12m at 39.7% CaF₂, including 7m at 60.2% CaF₂.
Rock chip grades reached 98.4% CaF₂, with multiple samples exceeding 90% CaF₂.
Multiple mineralised zones were identified across a surface footprint of approximately 70m by 100m, with mineralisation remaining open in several directions.
Blue Bell becomes Quinn’s 4th priority target area, alongside Horseshoe, Mammoth and Big Jim.
The Blue Bell results follow a maiden systematic program of mapping, channel sampling and rock sampling on ground recently staked by the company.
Across Quinn, OD6 has consolidated 100% ownership of 226 mining claims covering approximately 1,890 hectares, encompassing more than 20 known fluorspar occurrences within a historical fluorspar mining district.
Blue Bell consists of a principal vein between 20cm and 2m wide, historically mined in a small quarry, which dips steeply north at 70 to 80 degrees.
The vein is exposed over approximately 40m, while the overall zone has been mapped across approximately 100m.
Beneath the principal vein, fluorspar breccia and stockwork zones hosted in volcanic rocks extend over more than 70m.
The channel samples were collected along historical pit walls and exposed areas and do not represent true widths, while the rock chip samples are selective by nature.
No drilling is reported in the announcement, and the sampling does not provide sufficient information for mineral resource estimation in the absence of drilling.
The mineralisation comprises white to pale green fluorspar hosted in dark, altered volcanics, a contrast the company identifies as the basis for ore sorting.
Large format samples collected at Blue Bell for metallurgical and ore sorting testwork, previously reported on 12 August 2026, returned 91.6% CaF₂.
OD6 considers the material highly amenable to sorting, with potential to upgrade breccia and stockwork material into saleable Metspar or premium Acidspar feed, subject to ongoing testwork.
Its proposed development strategy comprises multiple satellite sources, with material upgraded at or near each deposit before supplying a central processing facility, subject to further exploration, metallurgical studies and economic assessment.
OD6 Managing director Brett Hazelden described the objective behind the expanded claim position, saying,
“When we announced the expansion of our mineral claims in June, our objective was to consolidate a much larger prospective fluorspar district.”
At Blue Bell, the steeply dipping geometry provides drill targets from the valley below, while mineralisation remains open east beneath talus cover and west through altered volcanics, with extensional assays pending.
Drill permitting is progressing through the US Forest Service, alongside environmental baseline work, archaeological studies and preparation of drilling and bulk sample approvals.
Metallurgical work continues through optical sorting and beneficiation studies to optimise premium product recoveries.
The announcement places Quinn within a US fluorspar market that remains 100% net import reliant, while OD6 continues exploration and assessment of its potential domestic supply opportunity.
