Nordic Resources (ASX:NNL) ramps up drilling and geophysics at Kopsa Gold Project

Nordic Resources (ASX:NNL) ramps up drilling and geophysics at Kopsa Gold Project

September 5, 2025 Off By MarketOpen

Nordic Resources (ASX:NNL) has stepped up the pace at its flagship Kopsa gold-copper project in Finland, with drilling and geophysical programs advancing in tandem across a deposit already boasting more than 800,000 ounces in gold equivalent resources.

The campaign comes as the company looks to extend strike and depth potential within an underexplored region that has the hallmarks of a gold district.

Highlights

  • Eight diamond drill holes completed for 1,700m, assays due in mid-October.

  • Kopsa resource stands at 23.2Mt at 1.09g/t AuEq for 814,800oz AuEq.

  • Historic results include 98.7m at 3.9g/t Au and 0.19% Cu from 6m.

  • More than 90% of resource sits within 150m of surface.

  • Regional inventory across Finland totals 34.3Mt at 1.11g/t AuEq for 1.23Moz AuEq.

  • Ground magnetic survey completed, FLEM survey commencing in northeast zone.

Drilling and geophysics are the twin engines of Nordic’s strategy at Kopsa, situated in the Middle Ostrobothnia Gold Belt.

Eight drill holes have been finished for 1,700m of diamond core, with assays pending from the first four holes.

The program is designed to test strike and depth extensions of the existing orebody as well as undrilled geophysical anomalies.

The Kopsa deposit, hosted in a magnetic tonalite intrusion, has already delivered broad mineralised zones.

Standout intersections from earlier campaigns include 98.7m at 3.90g/t gold and 0.19% copper from a shallow depth of 6m, alongside 54.5m at 2.49g/t gold and 0.18% copper from 19m.

These results reinforce the view that Kopsa can deliver both grade and tonnage, with shallow mineralisation conducive to open-pit development.

Complementing the drilling, a detailed ground magnetic survey has been completed and interpretation is due shortly.

A fixed loop electromagnetic (FLEM) survey will commence next week in the project’s northeast, targeting conductive anomalies trending toward the Sorola copper-gold prospect.

The geophysics is expected to refine near-term drill targets and open up fresh zones for follow-up.

Key Quote

“Kopsa has already demonstrated the scale and grade potential to underpin a meaningful project, and with drilling and geophysics progressing in tandem, we are systematically unlocking further upside,” said Nordic Resources executive director Robert Wrixon.

With assays pending, geophysical results imminent, and drilling continuing across both Kopsa and the nearby Kiimala Trend, Nordic has a steady flow of catalysts ahead.

The company’s three Finnish projects collectively hold 1.23Moz AuEq, positioning Nordic to play a leading role in unlocking the potential of the Middle Ostrobothnia Gold Belt an emerging district that has seen far less exploration attention than its better-known Swedish counterpart.
