Locksley Resources (ASX:LKY | OTCQB:LKYRF | FSE:X5L) expands Mojave antimony corridor fourfold
October 10, 2025Locksley Resources( ASX:LKY | OTCQB:LKYRF | FSE:X5L) has sharply elevated the scale potential of its Mojave Project in California, with structural mapping extending the Desert Antimony Mine (DAM) target horizon from 300 metres to 1.2 kilometres.
The fourfold increase redefines the exploration footprint, positioning Mojave as an emerging district-scale critical minerals hub in line with accelerating U.S. supply chain initiatives.
Highlights
-
Target corridor at DAM expanded by 400 per cent to 1.2 km.
-
New parallel shear zone identified 150 metres west of the main structure.
-
Seven priority sampling targets defined within a 3D geological model.
-
High-grade silver assays of up to 216 g/t Ag returned at Hendricks Prospect.
-
Lamprophyre dykes identified, highlighting potential for rare earth and carbonatite occurrences.
-
Third phase structural mapping to commence in November.
The latest campaign, completed in August and September, confirmed the continuity of a NNE-striking shear zone hosting high-grade stibnite mineralisation at DAM while also revealing a second parallel structural zone that extends the potential mineralised system across multiple horizons.
These findings have been incorporated into an updated three-dimensional geological model that will underpin a JORC Exploration Target and future drill planning
Mapping has also advanced understanding of structural controls, highlighting steep north-plunging intersections between shears and folded host rocks as key influences on mineralisation geometry.
Collectively, these outcomes materially increase the project’s scale potential and refine targeting across the broader claim package.
Attention has also turned to the Hendricks Prospect, 2.5 kilometres southeast of DAM, where first-pass mapping uncovered historic workings and a substantial shaft not previously identified.
Grab sampling from stockpiles returned assays of 216 grams per tonne silver, supported by anomalous zinc, lead, and copper.
The structural framework at Hendricks closely mirrors that of DAM, suggesting regional continuity of mineralising systems and underpinning its priority status for further work.
Further north, at the Junipero Prospect near MP Materials’ Mountain Pass rare earth mine, mapping identified multiple lamprophyre dykes and felsic intrusives that point to the potential for rare earth-bearing carbonatites, with the findings incorporated into a 3D model to guide future target generation.
Incorporating these new insights, Locksley has defined 18 priority target areas across its Mojave tenure, with follow-up surface sampling and mapping scheduled to commence later this month.
This will be followed by a third structural mapping campaign in November to build on the expanded geological interpretation
Chief executive Kerrie Matthews said the program had fundamentally reshaped the company’s understanding of Mojave.
“The fourfold expansion of the Desert Antimony Mine (DAM) target horizon has fundamentally changed the scale of the opportunity, demonstrating the potential for a much larger mineralised system,” she said.
The company’s progress comes amid heightened geopolitical focus on securing domestic supplies of critical minerals in the United States, with antimony holding particular strategic importance as a key input for defence systems, semiconductors and alloys, despite the absence of any domestic production.
Mojave, with its combination of high-grade stibnite and potential for associated rare earth occurrences, is therefore increasingly aligned with national supply chain objectives.
Locksley Resources has now mapped approximately 1.8 kilometres of strike at DAM and is preparing to translate this structural understanding into drill-ready targets.
With surface sampling underway and permitting secured across parts of the project, the groundwork is being laid for the company to test what has become a substantially enlarged exploration horizon.
The expanded strike length and discovery of new structural zones materially enhance the scale and significance of the Mojave Project.
As the U.S. government accelerates efforts to secure critical mineral supply chains, Locksley’s systematic work at Mojave underscores both the geological potential of the project and its growing relevance within a strategic national context.
With further mapping imminent and a maiden JORC Exploration Target in preparation, the company’s next steps will be closely watched by investors seeking exposure to this increasingly high-profile sector.
