Lithium Universe (ASX:LU7) ahead of the pace on Quebec Lithium Processing
Lithium Universe continue to advance fast on the Quebec Lithium Processing Hub, with Primero Group’s engineering study on a stand-alone multi-purpose concentrator showing a pace and quality exceeding industry norms for the company’s vertically integrated ambitions.
The 1 Mtpa rated Concentrator is rated is expected to produce around 140,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate a year at a grade of 5.5% Li2O to maximise recoveries.
Multiple members of the LU7 Dream Team were involved in the creation of low-cost, high-quality spodumene operations at Mt Cattlin, and the company expects to do it again in Quebec with a very similar design and addition of a flotation unit, resulting in a more resilient plant capable of processing various ore types.
Lithium Universe Chairman Iggy Tan said the progress has been exceptional and sets a stage for the Definitive Feasibility Study.
“Considering our listing in early August this year, the pace and quality of work demonstrated by Primero, guided by the Company’s Lithium Dream Team, has been truly remarkable,” Mr Tan said.
“Most companies conducting a study of this calibre typically take at least six to nine months to reach this point. Looking ahead, finalizing equipment specifications and data sheets represents the next step, enabling us to approach suppliers for concrete pricing.
“The ongoing progress and achievements continue to impress us.”
