LinQ Minerals (ASX:LNQ) reports open mineralisation at Monza

LinQ Minerals has reported assay results from its Phase 1 maiden drilling program at the Monza gold copper prospect, within the Central Zone of the Gilmore Gold Copper Project in the Macquarie Arc, New South Wales.

The program tested extensions of gold and copper mineralisation intersected by previous explorer drilling, with the company confirming that mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth in all directions.

Highlights

LinQ completed 8 holes, MZACD003 to MZACD010, during the program. Results from MZACD003, MZACD004 and MZACD005 were previously reported to the ASX, while the latest announcement covers MZACD007, MZACD008, MZACD009 and MZACD010.

The 113m intersection in MZACD010 comprised 0.44% copper and 0.36g/t gold from 33m, including 72m at 0.46% copper and 0.61g/t gold from 45m and 4m at 0.45% copper and 6.0g/t gold from 62m.

MZACD008 returned 0.26% copper and 0.24g/t gold across its reported 193m intersection, while MZACD007 contained 0.21% copper and 0.21g/t gold over 104m and the 31m interval in MZACD009 comprised 0.51% copper and 0.23g/t gold.

The company reported that the results further confirm a system of porphyry copper gold mineralisation related to a complex of monzonite and monzodiorite intrusives.

MZACD009 and MZACD010 confirm that grade is open at shallow depth to the north and east, including possible up dip and along strike extensions to the sulphide breccia intersected in TMZD001, MZACD003 and MZACD005.

LinQ Executive Chair Clive Donner said:

“We continue to intersect shallow thick copper mineralisation from near surface at Monza.”

Previously reported results from the current program include 226m at 0.70% CuEq from 47m in MZACD003, including 28m at 1.85% CuEq from 87m, and 136m at 0.70% CuEq from 47m in MZACD004, including 17m at 1.58% CuEq from 88m.

MZACD005 returned 208m at 0.61% CuEq from 38m, including 5m at 5.36% CuEq from 124m.

Historical drilling at Monza includes 150m at 1.62% CuEq from 65m in TMZD001, including 12.7m at 13.8% CuEq from 127m.

Other historical results include 298m at 0.56% CuEq from 25m in TMZD006 and 51m at 0.69% CuEq from 287m in TMZD002.

Monza lies within a 17km mineralised porphyry copper and gold corridor that includes reported Mineral Resource Estimates at Estoril, Culingerai and Mandamah, together with the Monza and Donnington prospects.

Showground, Punch, Harold Bell, Chicane and Rain Hill are other porphyry prospects within the corridor that have received limited drill testing.

Monza is located 1km northwest of Estoril, where previous intersections include 74m at 0.56% CuEq and 115m at 0.5% CuEq.

The 2 prospects occupy a prospective strike extent of 2km, including an ~1km gap where previous air core drilling identified multiple anomalous copper gold responses that have not been subject to deeper drill testing.

LinQ intends to follow up those air core results to test the concept of a single porphyry mineralisation body extending continuously between Estoril and Monza.

Estoril remains open in both strike directions and to the south, and has been subject to very wide spaced drilling.

The company’s 100% owned Gilmore Project is located between West Wyalong and Temora in New South Wales.

LinQ holds ~597km² of tenements across a 60km belt containing +20 known prospects and 6 mineral resource deposits.

Gilmore hosts a global Mineral Resource Estimate of 516Mt containing ~3.7Moz gold and ~1.2Mt copper.

Follow up extensional drilling at Monza is planned, while assay results from MZACD006 remain pending.
