Killi (ASX:KLI) Kaa-icks on with Mt Rawdon gold system signs
Killi Resources’ (ASX:KLI) share price has rocketed 61 per cent on sharing positive signs it has discovered a new epithermal gold system extending from the surface inland from Bundaberg in Queensland.
The potential Kaa gold system at the company’s wholly owned Mt Rawdon West Project about 8 kilometres from Mt Rawdon Gold Mine, lying on a copper-gold trend that includes the historical Wonbah Copper Mine.
Results from Kaa include a very high-grade sample of 238g/t Au, 2.1% Cu & 513g/t Ag from the surface, a return that could be the promising surface outcrop of an underlying system.
It is planning a maiden drill program across the target and has recruited geological consultant Bruce Kendall to provide technical support as it conducts a ground IP geophysical survey to determine drill targets.
Killi Chief Executive Officer Kathryn Cutler flagged the element of surprise inherent in the Ka results, which have been welcomed by investors on-market.
“It’s not every day you can walk up to an outcrop and have it return about eight ounces of gold in assay,” she said.
“This very high-grade result coupled with multiple other assay results strongly anomalous for gold and copper extend the system considerably and indicate we are likely looking at a previously unrecognised epithermal system.
“These results give us confidence to aggressively continue our exploration programs, with an IP survey and local-scale surface mapping currently in progress.”
The results are expected in the next few weeks, as maiden drilling campaign interest firms up.
The Kaa trend the company is exploring at its Mt Rawdon project now extends for 1.8 kilometres and features high-grade gold-copper-silver mineralisation.
The trend is anomalous for pathfinder elements of antimony, bismuth, mercury and tellurium.
Killi’s share price was up 2.4 cents or 56% to 6.7c by early afternoon.
