Javelin Minerals (ASX:JAV) Coogee exploration campaign to test two intrusive gold copper targets
Javelin Minerals has outlined its next phase of exploration at the Coogee Gold Project in Western Australia, where a two hole diamond drilling program is planned to test geophysical anomalies at Coogee North and Coogee West.
The drilling will be co-funded through the WA Government's Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), while RC and aircore drilling programs are planned following heritage clearance over the main Coogee mineralised corridor.
The Coogee Gold Project is located on a granted Mining Lease and hosts a JORC Mineral Resource of 3.6Mt at 1.08g/t Au for 127,000oz of gold and 1.0Mt at 0.41% Cu for 4,122t of copper.

Two hole diamond drilling program scheduled to commence in Q3 2026 at Coogee North and Coogee West, with EIS funding secured.
Coogee Gold Project hosts a JORC Mineral Resource of 3.6Mt at 1.08g/t Au for 127,000oz of gold and 1.0Mt at 0.41% Cu for 4,122t of copper.
RC and aircore drilling programs are planned following heritage clearance over the main Coogee mineralised corridor.
RC drilling at Coogee North will target extensions to previously identified high grade gold and gold copper shoots, including historical intersections of 5m at 14.22g/t Au from 143m and 7m at 6.42g/t Au from 108m.
Options have been secured over two additional tenements, extending the Coogee project area to more than 63sqkm.
The company plans a two hole diamond drilling program targeting geophysical anomalies at Coogee North and Coogee West.
According to the announcement, one of the targets is located directly below the gold copper Resource at Coogee North, where the company states the magnetic anomaly is modelled to occur approximately 700m below surface and has not previously been drill tested.
The proposed diamond hole is intended to test the source of the geophysical anomaly and potential intrusive unit at depth, while also providing a detailed structural and lithological dataset of the mineralised system.
The announcement states that mineralisation at Coogee occurs as gold only mineralisation directly along strike of the historic pit and gold copper mineralisation offset to the northeast.
Gold copper mineralisation at Coogee North is associated with an epidote siderite magnetite alteration assemblage, which the company says is postulated to represent a skarn type alteration caused by a magmatic intrusion.
Javelin's late 2024 RC drilling included intersections of 5m at 14.22g/t Au from 143m with 4m at 1.91% Cu from 144m, and 7m at 6.42g/t Au from 108m with 7m at 2.54% Cu from 108m.
At Coogee West, the announcement describes a magnetic anomaly with a similar magnetic response to that observed at Coogee North.
The target is covered by transported sediments associated with Lake Lefroy, while historic shallow aircore drilling identified a broad zone of bedrock gold anomalism, including up to 1.38g/t in bottom of hole sampling.
The company states that modelling suggests a potential intrusive feature approximately 450m to 600m below surface.
A single diamond drill hole to approximately 1,000m is planned to test the interpreted intrusive body, with drilling at both Coogee North and Coogee West scheduled to commence in Q3 2026.
Javelin also plans to complete RC and aircore drilling during the second half of 2026 following completion of heritage clearance.
The RC program at Coogee North will target extensions to high grade gold and gold copper shoots outside the current Coogee Mineral Resource, while the aircore program will test magnetic anomalies immediately west of the existing Coogee and Coogee North trend.
The announcement states that no systematic drill testing has been completed over these anomalies, although historic shallow drilling returned intersections of up to 23m at 0.38g/t Au.
The company also advises that it has secured options to purchase two tenements that are continuous with the existing Coogee leases, effectively doubling the area of prospective greenstone for exploration targeting.
The larger tenement, E15/1920, covers the southeastern extension of the corridor hosting the CG-08 exploration target.
According to the announcement, magnetic and gravity datasets covering the new tenure have been integrated with the existing Coogee geophysical datasets to support an updated interpretation and the identification of new exploration targets.
The announcement states that the Coogee deposit was mined during 2013 and 2014, with 147,400t at 4.77g/t Au mined for 20,400oz of gold, and notes that while extensive drilling was completed over the Coogee Mineral Resource area before mining, much of the remaining tenement area has been subjected to limited regional exploration.
Diamond drilling at Coogee North and Coogee West is scheduled to commence in Q3 2026, while RC and aircore drilling are planned during the second half of 2026 following heritage clearance.
