Horizon Gold (ASX:HRN) reports RC drilling results from Kingfisher, Hawk and Swan prospects
Horizon Gold has reported final assay results from Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling completed at the Kingfisher, Hawk and Swan prospects within its 100% owned Gum Creek Gold Project in Western Australia.
The results include significant gold intercepts from the 3 prospects, with follow up RC and diamond drilling planned and drilling continuing across the Gum Creek Project area.
Highlights
Kingfisher RC drilling returned numerous broad and high grade intercepts, including 23m @ 5.26g/t Au from 188m including 15m @ 7.65g/t Au from 192m, and 45m @ 1.24g/t Au from 114m including 3m @ 6.79g/t Au from 114m.
Hawk RC drilling extended known gold mineralisation down dip and down plunge to the north, with significant intercepts including 12m @ 2.30g/t Au from 140m including 6m @ 4.26g/t Au from 140m.
Swan shallow extensional RC drilling returned results including 16m @ 1.84g/t Au from 45m including 7m @ 3.03g/t Au from 46m.
Follow up RC and diamond drilling is planned at all 3 prospects.
At Kingfisher, located 3.5km south southeast of the old Gidgee Mill, Horizon Gold completed 20 RC holes for a total of 3,273m.
The program aimed to infill a gap in historic drilling within the northern, near surface part of the resource and test for strike extensions along strike to the north of the current resource block model.
The company reported that drilling confirmed continuity of mineralisation in the gap and highlighted the potential for further resource expansion along strike to the north.
Kingfisher hosts a current open cut Mineral Resource Estimate of 1.22Mt @ 2.01g/t Au for 78,900oz and an underground Mineral Resource Estimate of 1.04Mt @ 3.38g/t Au for 113,500oz.
Horizon Gold stated that further RC drilling along strike, up plunge and down dip of the 23m @ 5.26g/t Au intercept is planned, with the aim of increasing the open pittable resource and improving resource confidence levels before an MRE update later in 2026.
At Hawk, located 5km south southeast of the old Gidgee Mill, Horizon Gold completed 3 RC holes for a total of 552m.
The drilling tested an interpreted north plunging high grade mineralised shoot down plunge of the existing resource, with significant intercepts including 12m @ 2.30g/t Au from 140m including 6m @ 4.26g/t Au from 140m and 5m @ 3.46g/t Au from 159m.
The Hawk Prospect currently has a Mineral Resource Estimate of 0.76Mt @ 1.35g/t Au for 33,000oz, with mineralisation hosted within quartz carbonate pyrite shear veins and thinner flat lying tension veins within sericite carbonate altered basalt.
Further RC drilling along strike and down plunge of the 6m @ 4.26g/t Au intercept is planned before an MRE update later in 2026.
At Swan, located 700m east of the old Gidgee Mill, Horizon Gold completed 5 RC holes for 424m, with the drilling designed to extend gold mineralisation to the north and confirm the interpretation of known gold mineralisation.
Results included 16m @ 1.84g/t Au from 45m including 7m @ 3.03g/t Au from 46m, and 6m @ 1.23g/t Au from 28m.
The company reported that Swan results extended low grade mineralisation along strike to the north of the current resource model and that the SBRC150 intercept implies mineralisation is steeply west dipping.
Further shallow RC drilling is required along strike of SBRC146 and SBRC147 before the next Swan MRE update later in 2026.
Horizon Gold Managing Director Scott Williamson said,
“Impressive high-grade RC drilling results from Kingfisher, Hawk and Swan highlight the potential for resource expansion close to the proposed 2.4Mtpa processing plant. Follow up drilling is being planned prior to updating the respective resource estimations.”
The Gum Creek Gold Project is 100% owned by Horizon Gold and, according to the company, has a Mineral Resource Estimate of 37.97Mt @ 1.89g/t Au for 2.30Moz.
On 22 July 2026, Horizon Gold announced an Open Pit Definitive Feasibility Study outlining production, capital and operating costs and a schedule for a 2.4Mtpa gold mining and processing facility.
The study included a maiden Ore Reserve of 18.2Mt at 1.24g/t Au for 728koz of contained gold.
Horizon Gold has stated that follow up RC and diamond drilling is planned across Kingfisher, Hawk and Swan, with diamond and RC drilling continuing across the Gum Creek Project area.
