Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) return long lithium from maiden assays

Green Technology Metals have returned multiple tantalising intercepts from maiden assays of the first three diamond holes at Root Bay, the third prospect added to its wholly-owned Root Project in the Canadian Province of Ontario.

A strike of 67.1m @ 1.13% Li2O from 60.9m was the lengthy headliner amid the reveal of numerous stretches of lithium oxide at 1.09% or higher.

“Root Bay is the third prospect located on the eastern side of the Root Project with drilling now
confirming multiple stacked lithium bearing pegmatites cross cutting a magnetic ridge that extends over six kilometres of highly prospective ground,” GT1 Chief Executive Luke Cox said.

An ongoing 20-hole phase one diamond campaign has already intersected numerous pegmatites along an east-west ridge sitting highly prospective for six kilometres, striking LCT pegmatite zones of 14.54m, 15.98m and 17.80m within an initial drill area of just 1.2km.

The Root Project lies 10km westward of GT1’s flagship Seymour Project and its existing 9.9 Mt @ 1.04% Li2O resource. Combined with the Wisa project, it forms a trio of wholly owned Canadian assets where accelerated, targeted exploration aims to deliver rapid and substantial resource growth.

Only three holes are left for the campaign over Root, with assays pending for 14 as GT1 looks to deliver a Preliminary Economic Assessment incorporating the feed of two new resource estimates from Root’s McCombe deposit and its Seymour flagship.
