Gorilla Gold (ASX:GG8) unearths camp-scale gold potential at Comet Vale

September 8, 2025 Off By MarketOpen

Gorilla Gold Mines (ASX:GG8) is steadily advancing its Comet Vale Gold Project in Western Australia, with the latest drilling results underscoring the potential for a camp-scale gold system across multiple shear zones.

Situated 97 kilometres north of Kalgoorlie, the project sits within easy reach of infrastructure yet retains the hallmarks of an underexplored field.

Highlights

  • Lakeview expansion: King Kong lode extended 150 metres down-dip with standout intercepts including 6m at 10.3g/t Au.

  • New structures identified: Hanging-wall and footwall mineralisation encountered with grades up to 6.5g/t Au.

  • Silverback Trend discovery: Shallow RC drilling returned 2m at 4.8g/t Au and 4m at 1.4g/t Au, suggesting continuity along a 5km corridor.

  • Multi-rig program underway: Four rigs are drilling across Lakeview, Sovereign, Cheer, and Happy Jack prospects.

  • Upcoming catalysts: A project-wide Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) update scheduled for Q4 2025.

The latest assays from Lakeview reveal that mineralisation at the King Kong lode remains open at depth and along strike, with continuity confirmed to around 200 vertical metres.

Importantly, drilling also intersected additional structures both north and south of the main lode, signalling potential for parallel zones of mineralisation yet to be defined .

At the same time, early exploration along the Silverback Trend, an under-drilled, five-kilometre-long shear zone has returned promising results halfway between the Cheer and Happy Jack prospects.

The intercepts demonstrate that mineralisation extends beyond isolated discoveries and could connect into a broader, district-scale system .

Charles Hughes, Gorilla Gold’s Chief Executive Officer, says the growing scale of Comet Vale is becoming clearer as systematic drilling progresses:

“What is apparent is that we are only just getting going at Comet Vale, with our recent drilling success just the tip of the iceberg within a strongly endowed, camp-scale system.”

The project benefits from historical pedigree: the Sovereign deposit alone produced more than 200,000 ounces at 20g/t, yet most of the broader field has seen little modern exploration.

With historical operators focused narrowly on production, significant tracts remain untested beneath shallow cover.

With four rigs turning and assays pending from multiple prospects, Gorilla Gold is positioning itself for a major resource upgrade later this year.

Metallurgical testwork has already indicated favourable recoveries, and mine study work is progressing in parallel.

For investors, the coming quarter promises clarity on how the pieces at Comet Vale, Lakeview, Silverback, Sovereign and beyond fit together into a cohesive, high-grade gold camp.
