Flynn Gold (ASX:FG1) reports 94% gold extraction from Golden Ridge metallurgical tests

Flynn Gold has reported results from a further round of metallurgical tests at its 100% owned Golden Ridge Project in north east Tasmania, with sighter testing achieving 94% average gold extraction from 35 low to medium grade samples from the Trafalgar Prospect.

Resource drilling has also commenced at the Brilliant Prospect, with a program of up to 21 drill holes for 2,500m.

Highlights

The Trafalgar metallurgical testwork used the LeachWELL™ method on 35 low to medium grade samples ranging from 0.1g/t to 4.5g/t Au.

The samples were sourced from 2 lower grade mineralised intervals in 2 diamond drillholes and achieved gold recoveries ranging from 88% to 97%, with an average gold extraction of 94%.

The testwork was undertaken to investigate the cyanide leachability of lower grade mineralisation and whether it warrants further evaluation as part of potential future bulk mining development scenarios.

The samples were outside the high grade vein domains used to estimate the November 2024 Trafalgar Exploration Target.

Results were consistent with Trafalgar testwork, which achieved 94.5% average gold extraction across a range of mineralised grades, while testwork on samples from the nearby Grenadier Prospect achieved 94.9% average gold extraction.

Flynn Gold stated that further metallurgical testwork is planned to establish recoveries under potential commercial processing conditions.

Flynn Gold Managing Director and CEO Neil Marston said,

“Today the Company has announced the results of another round of metallurgical tests using lower-grade core samples from the Trafalgar prospect, which achieved average cyanide gold extraction of 94% using the LeachWELL™ method.”

The Trafalgar, Brilliant and Link Zone prospects at the Golden Ridge Project were included in Flynn Gold’s November 2024 JORC compliant Exploration Target.

Flynn Gold reported that exploration at Golden Ridge has identified intrusion related type gold mineralisation extending over a 9km long zone along the southern contact margin of the Golden Ridge Granodiorite with the Hornfelsed Mathinna Group metasediments.

The combined Exploration Target for the Trafalgar, Brilliant and Link Zone prospects comprises a tonnes range of 3.5 to 5.4Mt, a grade range of 3.0 to 4.0g/t Au and contained gold ranging from 449,000oz to 520,000oz.

Flynn Gold stated that the size and grade of the Exploration Target is conceptual in nature and that there has been insufficient exploration to estimate a Mineral Resource.

The next phase of testwork will use fresh core from drilling, evaluate gold recovery under conditions more representative of potential commercial processing, and investigate beneficiation options for lower grade mineralisation and the potential to produce higher grade material or concentrate for further processing.

Resource drilling at the Brilliant Prospect has commenced. A program of up to 21 drill holes for 2,500m has received Mineral Resources Tasmania approval.

Trenching has also recommenced at Brilliant following completion of 4 trenches, which confirmed a broad footprint of anomalous gold extending northeast along strike of previous drilling over more than 110m.
