eMetals (ASX:EMT) reports tungsten sampling results from Mineral Range Project

eMetals has reported assay results from recent underground channel and rock chip sampling at its 100% owned Mineral Range Tungsten Project in Utah, USA.

The sampling program focused on the historic Garnet prospect, with the results to be used to refine high priority drill targets and support a proposed drilling program scheduled for the current quarter.

The Mineral Range Tungsten Project comprises a 100% interest in 109 mineral claims covering 2,072 acres, approximately 838 hectares, within the Mineral Range batholith in Beaver County, Utah.

The project includes approximately 12 km of strike length providing multiple exploration prospects with significant potential to test known strike and depth extensions of historical mines.

The project area has an extensive history of tungsten mining, including the past producing Garnet, Big Pass and Two R's mines, which historically produced 634 tonnes @ 0.64% WO₃, 279 tonnes @ 0.79% WO₃ and 70 tonnes @ 0.58% WO₃ respectively.

Field work is currently focused on a series of bedding parallel, near vertical, garnet rich skarn zones proximal to the historic Garnet Mine.

Following an initial reconnaissance program, the company successfully re entered the Garnet Mine at the 40 ft (12 m) and 100 ft (30 m) levels, together with a winze extending approximately 30 ft below the 100 ft level. Mineralisation was observed underground using shortwave UV, while both levels were scanned using an Exyn Pak SLAM LiDAR system to generate high resolution 3D models of the workings and support volume estimates of historically mined material.

A total of 10 samples were collected across the Garnet and Contact mines, comprising channel, rock chip and composite rock chip samples.

The reported assay results included channel samples returning 1.2 m @ 0.76% WO₃, 5.5 m @ 0.18% WO₃ and 1.5 m @ 0.27% WO₃.

The company also disclosed all assay results from the rock sampling program, including both low and high grade results, and stated that no averaging, compositing or aggregation of results has been applied.

eMetals Executive Director Mathew Walker commented,

“These initial results are extremely encouraging, particularly as grade appears to increase at depth. The results provide stand-out exploration targets for our drilling program which is in the final stages of planning.”

Data collected from the program will be used to refine high priority drill targets and guide follow up exploration aimed at expanding known mineralised zones.

Planned exploration activities include diamond drilling, geological logging and geological modelling.

The announcement also notes that no drilling has been undertaken as part of the current program and that additional geological mapping, sampling and drilling will be required to establish the relationship between reported intercept lengths and true mineralisation widths.
