Dundas Minerals (ASX:DUN) reports deeper gold intercepts at Rockland

Dundas Minerals has received the first assays from its current reverse circulation drilling campaign at Rockland, approximately 40km north of Kalgoorlie.

A hole on the southern drill section intersected 2 gold zones beneath the base of previous drilling, extending the company’s interpreted mineralised shoots to approximately 170m vertically below surface.

Highlights

Dundas drilled 26RKRC011 to 234m to test below earlier intersections on the same section, including 6m at 3.3 g/t gold from 78m and 8m at 1.1 g/t from 145m.

The new results are from 4m composite samples, with assays of individual 1m samples pending. Reported intervals are downhole lengths, with true widths not yet known.

Dundas Managing Director Jonathan Downes said:

“We have tested below the existing drilling on one section and found high grade mineralisation.”

The company interprets the Rockland mineralisation as discrete shoots dipping east at approximately 40°.

A previously reported intersection of 4m at 1.28 g/t gold from 68m on an adjacent drill line approximately 150m north supports its interpretation of a north to south mineralised trend.

Dundas says the trend remains open along strike and at depth, with mineralisation identified over a 1km strike length.

The announcement reports a historical Paddington Gold intersection at Rockland in a Dundas ASX release for the first time.

Hole TLRC042 returned 5m at 5.52 g/t gold from 114m during the 2000 to 2001 reporting period.

Dundas checked that interval against archived 1m assays, while noting that the historical result does not establish continuity with the new intercepts and that the historical collar and survey records have limitations.

The other 2 holes in the first batch were drilled further northwest, on the company’s interpreted western margin of the mineralised corridor.

Hole 26RKRC012 returned 8m at 0.93 g/t gold from 52m, while hole 26RKRC013 returned 4m at 0.43 g/t from 104m, 4m at 0.5 g/t from 112m and 4m at 0.48 g/t from 164m.

Dundas states that drill spacing is insufficient for a Mineral Resource estimate at Rockland, and no estimate has been made.

Rockland is the discovery stage project in Dundas’s Kalgoorlie gold portfolio, which also includes the Capricorn and Baden-Powell resource projects.

Drilling remains ongoing under a programme of approximately 38 holes across the 3 projects.

Further Rockland assays are expected shortly, with results from Capricorn and Baden-Powell expected progressively through the December quarter.

Dundas also lists further drilling to test down dip and strike extensions of the interpreted shoots at Rockland as future work.
