Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) joins U.S.–Australia critical minerals dialogue following Trump–Albanese talks
October 21, 2025Diablo Resources Limited (ASX:DBO) has been invited to attend a high-level diplomatic lunch in Washington, D.C. with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, hosted by Ambassador and former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
The event follows Prime Minister Albanese’s bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, where critical minerals and supply chain cooperation are key topics of discussion.
The invitation represents recognition of Diablo’s growing presence within the United States critical minerals sector and its alignment with both nations shared objectives for clean energy, supply chain resilience, and strategic mineral security.
With projects focused on copper, silver, and antimony in Utah, Diablo is positioned within a region of increasing geopolitical and industrial importance.
Chief Executive Officer Lyle Thorne discusses the significance of this milestone, the company’s U.S.-based project portfolio, and how Diablo is contributing to the next phase of U.S.–Australia critical minerals cooperation.
Why is Diablo Resources attending the lunch with Prime Minister Albanese and the U.S. Ambassador?
Diablo Resources has been invited to attend a lunch hosted by Ambassador Kevin Rudd, alongside Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, in Washington, D.C. The invitation follows Prime Minister Albanese’s meeting with President Donald Trump, where critical minerals and allied supply chains were central topics.
The company’s participation highlights government recognition of Diablo’s emerging role in the U.S. critical minerals landscape and the relevance of its projects in supporting shared clean-energy and security objectives.
“We’re incredibly grateful to have been invited by Prime Minister Albanese and Ambassador Rudd to join this event in Washington. It’s an exciting moment for Diablo — to have a seat at the table as Australia and the U.S. discuss the future of critical minerals.”
The event provides an opportunity for the company to represent the Australian exploration community while gaining valuable insight into policy developments shaping the North American critical minerals corridor.
What makes this event strategically important for Diablo?
The timing of this engagement is particularly relevant, as both governments are prioritising critical minerals collaboration to reduce supply chain vulnerabilities and accelerate the energy transition.
For Diablo, which operates exclusively within the United States, the discussions align directly with the company’s strategic direction and reinforce its standing within an industry now viewed as integral to economic and defence security.
“With our projects based in the United States, this dialogue couldn’t be more relevant to what we’re building.”
Participation in this event allows Diablo to engage directly with policymakers and industry leaders who are shaping the framework for future cooperation.
How does Diablo’s U.S. project portfolio position it within this context?
Diablo holds two high-value projects in Utah, the Phoenix Copper Project and the Star Range Silver-Antimony Project, both located within a Tier-one mining jurisdiction known for its strong infrastructure, stable regulatory environment, and supportive stance on domestic resource development.
At the Phoenix Copper Project, situated approximately 70 kilometres southwest of Moab, sampling has confirmed copper mineralisation along strike from the producing Lisbon Valley Copper Mine.
Exploration in 2025 identified three key target areas, Philadelphia, Trenton, and Fair Dinkum returning impressive results including 6 metres at 2.13% copper with 1 metre at 7.16% copper, and rock samples up to 45.7% copper.
At Fair Dinkum, grab samples averaged 1.12% copper with silver up to 92 grams per tonne.
The company has completed its maiden drilling program and is awaiting assay results.
The Star Range Silver-Antimony Project, located near the town of Milford in Beaver County and approximately 15 kilometres northwest of the historic Horn Silver Mine, has delivered historical results up to 8,760 grams per tonne silver (309 ounces per tonne) and antimony exceeding 1%.
Two key prospect areas, North Star and South Star have shown extensive high-grade mineralisation at surface.
Current fieldwork includes surface sampling, geological mapping, and planning for an airborne magnetic survey to refine future drill targets.
“Our invitation reflects recognition of Diablo’s emerging role within the U.S. critical minerals corridor and our alignment with both nations’ clean energy and national security priorities.”
These projects place Diablo at the intersection of exploration potential and strategic relevance, with copper, silver, and antimony all identified as essential inputs for electrification, battery production, and defence technologies.
What are the next steps for exploration and project development?
At the Phoenix Copper Project, Diablo has completed its initial drilling program, with assays pending. The Company is also planning to drill its high property Fair Dinkum Prospect, located along strike form known copper deposits this year.
At the Star Range Silver-Antimony Project, work programs have commenced and include detailed surface mapping and sampling, with the upcoming airborne magnetic survey designed to pinpoint priority targets.
This methodical approach is aimed at delineating drill-ready targets at Star Range.
By maintaining a disciplined and data-driven exploration process, Diablo continues to strengthen the technical foundations of both projects while ensuring that future work programs are aligned with the U.S. government’s focus on expanding domestic sources of critical minerals.
How does this recognition benefit Diablo’s long-term strategy?
The invitation to participate in a diplomatic event alongside the Prime Minister and Australian Ambassador serves as a validation of Diablo’s strategic direction and growing reputation.
It demonstrates recognition at both government and industry levels of the company’s alignment with the broader objectives of U.S.–Australia cooperation on critical minerals supply and security.
“It’s a great opportunity to share our perspective and to see firsthand how both governments are thinking about the next phase of supply chain security and clean energy development.”
This level of recognition provides Diablo with greater visibility among potential partners and stakeholders while highlighting its progress as one of the few Australian-listed companies developing critical minerals projects on U.S. soil.
It underscores the company’s capacity to operate in a jurisdiction that is reinforcing its long-term commitment to building a resilient, locally integrated supply chain.
Strengthening a strategic partnership
Diablo Resources participation in this event marks a milestone in its evolution as a recognised contributor to the U.S. critical minerals sector.
The company continues to advance exploration at its Phoenix and Star Range projects in Utah, building a strong foundation to support North America’s growing demand for locally sourced copper, silver, and antimony.
As global governments work to secure access to critical minerals, Diablo’s presence in the United States positions it favourably within the ongoing dialogue between Australia and its allies on clean-energy independence and resource security.
