Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) defines drill targets at Star Range Silver Antimony Project
January 29, 2026Diablo Resources has advanced its Star Range Silver Antimony Copper Project in southwestern Utah through the completion and independent interpretation of a drone aeromagnetic survey, identifying nine priority exploration targets and confirming structural and geophysical features that align with previously reported high grade surface mineralisation across the project area.
Highlights
-
Nine priority drill targets defined from processed and modelled drone aeromagnetic data.
-
North Star confirmed as the highest priority target, coincident with favourable structural architecture and high grade silver antimony copper rock chip results.
-
Surface sampling at North Star returned grades including 3,043 g/t Ag and 1.37 g/t Au, 1,592 g/t Ag and 0.7% Sb, and 2.6% Cu with 198 g/t Ag.
-
Mineralised trends at North Star extend over approximately 3,000 m of strike.
-
The project covers 186 unpatented lode claims over 3,582 acres on Bureau of Land Management land in Beaver County, Utah.
-
Further ground based Induced Polarisation geophysics planned ahead of a maiden drilling program.
The Star Range Project lies within a historically productive segment of the Basin and Range Province, approximately 6 km west of Milford, Utah, and proximal to the Horn Silver Mine and Milford Copper Mine, both of which underline the district scale endowment for silver, copper, gold and associated base metals.
The project geology comprises block faulted Palaeozoic to Tertiary sediments intruded by granitic bodies, with mineralisation expressed as structurally controlled carbonate replacement, skarn and breccia vein systems developed along intrusive and sedimentary contacts.
Interpretation of the late 2025 drone aeromagnetic survey, integrated with regional USGS magnetic datasets, has delineated nine discrete magnetic features interpreted as prospective for polymetallic mineralisation.
Of these, the North Star Prospect stands out as a coherent magnetic high located near a monzonite limestone contact, coincident with multiple old workings, elevated surface geochemistry and a historical soil anomaly extending for approximately 1,500 m within a broader 3,000 m mineralised corridor.
Rock chip sampling across this trend has returned silver grades exceeding 1,000 g/t Ag, accompanied by elevated antimony, copper and gold, supporting the interpretation of a large scale vein, breccia and replacement style system.
Three dimensional inversion modelling of the magnetic data indicates favourable block faulting and thrust architecture proximal to the intrusive contact at North Star, a structural setting considered prospective for the development of skarn and carbonate replacement mineralisation.
The presence of multiple northeast trending magnetic linears across the broader claim package further highlights the potential for structurally controlled mineralised corridors, several of which remain untested by surface geochemistry.
Chief Executive Officer Lyle Thorne noted that
“the interpretation of the drone aeromagnetic survey has confirmed our exploration model and significantly enhanced the potential of existing prospects, most notably North Star”,
with the Company now preparing to advance from surface evaluation to drill testing.
To refine drill collar locations, Diablo plans to complete a Dipole Dipole Induced Polarisation survey over the North Star area, designed to image chargeability and resistivity responses to depths of approximately 300 m and to assist in mapping sulphide distribution, alteration and controlling structures beneath surface cover.
This approach reflects the geological setting, where comparable polymetallic vein, skarn and replacement systems in the western United States have demonstrated strong responses to IP techniques.
Beyond North Star, additional targets including East Star and West Star display magnetic and geochemical signatures consistent with copper rich skarn and silver gold bearing vein systems, with surface sampling at some prospects returning copper grades up to 7.4% and gold to 1.4 g/t.
Several magnetic features remain untested, indicating scope for systematic regional exploration across the 14.5 km2 claim package.
In an industry context characterised by strong silver price performance and growing strategic interest in antimony and copper, the Star Range results position Diablo within a historically productive and well serviced Tier 1 jurisdiction, with access to power, rail and established mining infrastructure in the Milford district.
The immediate focus remains on permitting, detailed geophysics and the integration of structural, geochemical and magnetic datasets to prioritise drilling.
