Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) advances exploration at Phoenix Copper Project in Utah

Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) is progressing exploration at its 100% owned Phoenix Copper Project in Utah, located in one of the United States’ most established copper-producing regions.

With drilling advancing at key prospects, regional stream sediment sampling complete, and high-grade copper results confirmed from reconnaissance work, the company is steadily building a comprehensive exploration dataset.

In this Q&A, Chief Executive Officer Lyle Thorne addresses key questions from investors on the company’s progress and outlook.

How does the Phoenix Copper Project’s location near the Lisbon Valley Copper Mine enhance its potential?

“The Phoenix Copper Project is located within the Lisbon Valley Anticline, overlying regionally important structures known to be associated with copper mineralisation at the nearby Lisbon Valley Copper Mine, This operation mines copper from multiple sources and is an established producer with 276 million pounds of copper.”

For Diablo, this means exploration is taking place in a district not only proven for copper production but also supported by favourable government processes, positioning the project strongly as exploration advances.

What progress has been made with drilling and sampling programs at the Phoenix Copper Project?

Drilling is currently underway at the Trenton and Philadelphia Prospects within the CC Claim Block, which were identified as high-priority targets.

Within the Stateline Claim Block, inhouse structural work identified four targets which have been initially tested with a regional stream sediment sampling programme.

A total of 42 samples were collected from drainage points to help outline areas for follow-up work.

Previous reconnaissance at the Fair Dinkum Prospect has already returned copper grades up to 2.76 percent and silver up to 92 grams per tonne, collected in the northern part of the Stateline Project from outcropping sandstones and conglomerates.

These results provide compelling evidence of copper mineralisation within the Stateline project area.

How is the company positioned in relation to recent U.S. government initiatives on critical minerals?

“The U.S. Government has made it clear that securing domestic supplies of critical minerals, including copper, is a priority of national importance.”

This policy stance has translated into faster permitting by Federal Authorities which directly supports Diablo’s exploration efforts.

The recognition of the Lisbon Valley Copper Mine on the Federal Permitting Dashboard FAST-41 Transparency Projects list highlights the federal focus on critical mineral supply chains and demonstrates that copper projects in this district are being prioritised.

Operating in this environment gives Diablo Resources the advantage of progressing exploration within a framework that is designed to support development.

Can you provide more detail on the four priority target areas within the Stateline Claim Block?

“A permit has already been submitted to drill the Fair Dinkum Prospect at Stateline.”

Within the Stateline Claim Block, four structural targets have been defined by the DBO exploration team. All are associated with regional fault systems that have the potential to host copper mineralisation.

For example, Target 1 lies on the Flying Diamond Fault, a fault zone that is known to host copper mineralisation further west of our Stateline Project area.

Reconnaissance work by our team located the Fair Dinkum Prospect which is associated with the Flying Diamond Fault. At Fair Dinkum, outcropping copper mineralisation was sampled over 100m of strike with results to 2.76% Cu.

Each of these four targets are considered prospective for sediment hosted copper mineralisation using systematic sampling and follow-up exploration.

What are the next steps investors should expect in the near term?

Representative drill samples and reconnaissance stream samples will be submitted for laboratory analysis, with assays expected in three to six weeks.

Further regional exploration sampling programmes are being planned within both the CC and Stateline Claim Blocks.

The Company will provide regular updates to the market as results are received.

Continued momentum at Phoenix

The Phoenix Copper Project is advancing with multiple exploration programs underway and results expected in the weeks ahead.

Supported by favourable U.S. government policy and located in a proven copper-producing region, Diablo Resources is well positioned to continue building momentum as it systematically tests and advances its priority targets.
