Diablo Resources (ASX:DBO) extends Star Range silver, antimony and copper anomalies in Utah
Diablo Resources has reported new reconnaissance soil sampling results from its Star Range silver, antimony and copper project in southwestern Utah, extending the South Star silver antimony anomaly and defining a coherent copper in soil anomaly at East Star.
The company is also progressing the acquisition of an 80% interest in the Horn Silver Project and preparing for its maiden diamond drilling program at North Star.
Highlights
South Star Ag Sb anomaly extended by approximately 1,400m, increasing the combined prospective trend to more than 3,000m.
First pass soil sampling at East Star defined a coherent copper in soil anomaly measuring approximately 400m by 200m.
East Star anomaly is associated with historical workings and previously reported rock chip grades of up to 7.39% Cu.
Maiden diamond drilling at North Star is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks.
$3.5m placement completed to support a drilling led exploration phase across the Utah portfolio.
Acquisition of an 80% interest in the Horn Silver Project is progressing in accordance with the binding agreement.
A total of 73 soil samples were collected on an approximate 200m by 100m grid, targeting extensions of known mineralised trends and providing first pass coverage over outcropping Cu skarn mineralisation at East Star.
The company says the program forms part of its regional strategy to extend existing mineralised trends, identify new areas of interest and build a pipeline of exploration and future drilling targets.
At South Star, sampling extended the soil anomaly by approximately 1,400m to the northeast, increasing the prospective trend to more than 3,000m when combined with previously reported results to the south.
Previous mapping identified historical workings containing silica carbonate veins and breccia zones, with previously reported rock chip results of up to 534g/t Ag and 0.19% Sb.
The company says the scale of the anomaly provides an area for follow up, infill sampling, geological mapping and structural interpretation ahead of future drill target definition.
At East Star, first pass soil sampling defined a coherent copper in soil anomaly measuring approximately 400m by 200m.
The company says the anomaly is associated with historical workings and complements reconnaissance rock chip sampling completed in late 2025, which returned several samples above 3% Cu, including a peak grade of 7.39% Cu.
The copper anomalism and historical workings occur along a northwest trending structural corridor extending for approximately 400m, which remains open towards the south and is also associated with anomalous silver, according to the company.
Diablo Resources Chief Executive Officer Lyle Thorne said,
“With maiden drilling at North Star commencing in the coming weeks and the Horn Silver acquisition progressing towards completion, Diablo is entering a significant period of drilling and exploration activity across its Utah portfolio.”
The company's immediate work program includes additional extension and infill soil sampling across South Star and East Star, follow up geological mapping and rock sampling, and integration of the latest geochemical results with existing geological mapping and geophysical datasets.
The company will also complete site preparation and mobilisation for the North Star diamond drilling program, progress the Horn Silver acquisition in accordance with the binding agreement, and continue target ranking, geological interpretation and drill planning across its Utah portfolio.
