Corazon Mining (ASX:CZN) extends Wembley gold system

Corazon Mining’s maiden reverse circulation drilling program at the Wembley gold prospect has validated and extended the Wembley Line of workings, confirming shallow gold mineralisation within the Feather Cap Gold Project in Western Australia.

Highlights

JBell Drilling completed the program using 14 holes to test the Wembley Line beneath and along strike from the historical workings.

The remaining 6 holes formed a broadly north south fence testing the interpreted regional Wembley structure south of the main workings.

Drilling intersected a strong high grade zone at approximately 55 m vertical depth in holes 26FRC002, 26FRC003, 26FRC004, 26FRC009 and 26FRC010.

Additional intercepts included 2 m at 1.46 g/t Au from 79 m in 26FRC003 and 4 m at 2.84 g/t Au from 68 m in 26FRC002.

The results confirm a coherent, steeply dipping structure that remains open at depth, although the reported intercepts represent downhole lengths and may exceed true widths depending on the drill angle relative to the mineralised lodes.

Corazon Managing Director Simon Coyle commented:

“Intercepts of 4 m at 10.6 g/t, 4 m at 9.2 g/t and 2 m at 5.7 g/t are exactly the type of results we set out to find.”

The Wembley Gold Project lies within the Bryah Basin, a Palaeoproterozoic sub basin of the Capricorn Orogen.

Mineralisation associated with historical mining and drilling is hosted at the contact between Narracoota Formation mafic and ultramafic volcanics and Thaduna Formation sediments, within a structurally controlled orogenic gold system.

The historical Wembley mine produced approximately 1,050 oz of gold from 1,510 t between 1926 and 1935, representing an implied recovered grade of approximately 21 g/t Au.

Corazon stated that these production records are unverified and are not indicative of grades that may be returned by the current program.

Feather Cap covers approximately 154 km² within the Bryah Padbury Basin and includes the Wembley, Jigsaw and Durack East, Trudgeon Well and Murphys Creek targets.

Corazon holds an option to acquire an 80% legal and beneficial interest in the Feather Cap tenements under a binding option and earn in agreement, with RBH Mining retaining a 20% interest upon exercise.

The project is part of Corazon’s Western Australian gold portfolio, which also includes the Chalice Gold Project in the Higginsville district and the Two Pools Gold Project in the Plutonic Marymia Greenstone Belt.

Chalice hosts a JORC Mineral Resource of 191,000 oz at 2.7 g/t Au on a granted Mining Lease, while Two Pools covers 537 km².

Corazon’s technical review has identified multiple exploration targets across Feather Cap, with historical drilling at Jigsaw and Durack East returning 20 m at 3.01 g/t Au from 40 m, including 4 m at 10.7 g/t Au, and 35 m at 1.47 g/t Au from 32 m, including 5 m at 5.13 g/t Au.

Corazon will prepare follow up drilling to test extensions of the Wembley Line and, subject to results, the regional Wembley structure.

Exploration targeting will also advance across Feather Cap, including at Trudgeon Well and Durack East.

Any Exploration Target subsequently defined would be conceptual because insufficient exploration has been completed to estimate a Mineral Resource, and it remains uncertain whether further exploration will result in a Mineral Resource being estimated.
