Charger Metals (ASX:CHR) extends Medcalf lithium mineralisation to 600m depth
Charger Metals has reported further drilling results from the Medcalf Spodumene Project within its 100% owned Lake Johnston Lithium and Gold Project in Western Australia, following completion of 3,418m of diamond and reverse circulation drilling during the March quarter.
The results include new assay data confirming spodumene-pegmatite lodes at depth and along strike, including intersections outside the current Mineral Resource.

The drilling program included 1,581m of diamond drilling and 1,837m of reverse circulation drilling completed at the Medcalf Spodumene Project.
The project is located within the Lake Johnston Lithium and Gold Project in the Yilgarn region of Western Australia, approximately 200km from Esperance Port and within trucking distance of four spodumene plants.
Diamond drilling results from hole CLMDD004 confirmed spodumene-pegmatite lodes with combined widths of 26m averaging 1.11% Li2O and 113ppm Ta.
These results extend lithium mineralisation from surface to 600m down dip, adding a further 260m of mineralisation from hole CLMRC024, with significant intercepts including 2.0m @ 1.59% Li2O from 188.3m, 1.9m @ 1.08% Li2O from 195.1m, and 6.4m @ 1.03% Li2O from 343.2m.
Reverse circulation drilling results from hole CLMRC066 confirmed combined spodumene widths of 22m averaging 1.0% Li2O and 111ppm Ta.
These results confirm that the Medcalf resource remains open along strike to the south-east. Additional intercepts include 2m @ 2.03% Li2O from 136m and 7m @ 0.85% Li2O from 220m.
At Medcalf West, reverse circulation drilling confirmed spodumene mineralisation outside the current Mineral Resource, including 10m @ 1.21% Li2O from 128m and 4m @ 1.11% Li2O from 92m, with mineralisation hosted by multiple steeply northwest-dipping pegmatites within a mineralised zone extending for 1,200m of strike.
Charger reported that the Medcalf stacked spodumene pegmatite swarms extend from surface at a dip of 45 degrees, and diamond drilling has confirmed lithium mineralisation to depths of 600m to 700m down dip.
The company has completed a total of 75 diamond and reverse circulation holes across Medcalf and Medcalf West.

Charger is pleased to report the latest Medcalf assay results from hole CLMDD004 and CLMRC066, which shows spodumene pegmatite mineralisation with combined widths of 26m averaging 1.11% Li2O, and 22m averaging 1.0% Li2O, respectively. Both holes have extended the spodumene mineralisation significantly outside the maiden resource. As we drill deeper at Medcalf we are seeing better widths.”
Further assay results from the current drilling program are expected over the next 4 weeks. Following receipt of all assay results, the Medcalf Lithium Resource will be revised from its current 8.2Mt @ 1.0% Li2O.
