Azzuro Resources (ASX:AZ9) reports high grade copper and gold assays from Red Hill
Azzuro Resources has reported the third batch of assay results from its 2026 drilling program at the company’s 100% owned Red Hill Copper Gold Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide Project in Mongolia.
The latest results cover drillholes MU2604, MU2605, MU2606, MU2607 and MU2608, with the company reporting that the Copper Gold VMS system is now confirmed over close to 550 m of strike and remains open to the west, east and down dip.
The announcement also outlines further assay results, pending drilling results and the next stages of technical work planned for the project.

MU2604 returned 18.0 m at 1.02% Cu, 0.54 g/t Au and 12.14 g/t Ag from 74.0 m, including 4.3 m at 1.27% Cu, 1.41 g/t Au, 36.94 g/t Ag and 6.37% Zn from 87.8 m.
MU2605 returned 1.6 m at 11.94% Cu, 1.63 g/t Au, 30.13 g/t Ag and 0.84% Zn from 127.2 m, together with broader mineralised intervals including 14.2 m at 0.55% Cu from 113.0 m.
MU2606 returned 6.0 m at 4.18 g/t Au and 9.22 g/t Ag from 18.7 m, including 3.0 m at 7.38 g/t Au from 19.7 m.
Assay results from the remaining Red Hill Copper Gold and Copper Ridge drillholes are pending and expected over the coming weeks. Metallurgical testing is scheduled to commence in Q3 2026.
The latest drilling results continue to define the Red Hill mineralised system across multiple drillholes. According to the company, the Copper Gold VMS system has now been confirmed over close to 550 m of strike, has been extended by every drilling assay batch reported during the 2026 program to date, and remains open to the west, east and down dip.
MU2605 was drilled approximately 124 m west northwest of MU2604 to test the western continuation of the massive sulphides.
The hole returned 7.0 m at 0.80% Cu and 0.19 g/t Au from 75.0 m, 14.2 m at 0.55% Cu and 0.03 g/t Au from 113.0 m, and 1.6 m at 11.94% Cu, 1.63 g/t Au, 30.13 g/t Ag and 0.84% Zn from 127.2 m.
According to the company, this represents the highest copper grade returned from the 2026 drilling program to date and confirms the previously reported visually copper rich massive sulphide interval.
MU2604 tested the western extension of previously reported massive mineralisation beneath a coincident geophysical anomaly.
Assays returned 18.0 m at 1.02% Cu, 0.54 g/t Au and 12.14 g/t Ag from 74.0 m, including 4.3 m at 1.27% Cu, 1.41 g/t Au, 36.94 g/t Ag and 6.37% Zn from 87.8 m.
The company states the results confirm copper, gold, zinc and silver mineralisation within the previously reported massive and semi massive sulphide zones.
MU2606 targeted the eastern continuation of shallow higher grade gold mineralisation intersected during drilling completed in 2025.
The announcement states the intercept to intercept distance between the gold mineralisation is 45 m to 50 m. Results included 2.0 m at 1.14 g/t Au and 12.1 g/t Ag from 10.7 m, 6.0 m at 4.18 g/t Au and 9.22 g/t Ag from 18.7 m, including 3.0 m at 7.38 g/t Au from 19.7 m, 2.0 m at 2.02 g/t Au and 35.65 g/t Ag from 34.0 m, and the hole ended in 7.0 m grading 0.33% Cu from 53.0 m.

“MU2604 and MU2605 have returned the highest copper grades of our 2026 program, headlined by a massive sulphide lens grading almost 12% copper in MU2605, while MU2606 confirms high grade gold from close to surface. Together they show Red Hill is a large, fertile copper gold system that continues to grow with each batch of results, now confirmed over close to 550 metres of strike and still open in every direction.”
According to the company, the Red Hill Project is located in southwestern Mongolia and is considered prospective for volcanogenic massive sulphide mineralisation, with multiple untested geophysical and geochemical anomalies within a favourable volcanic stratigraphy.
The company has also advised that assay results from the remaining drillholes are expected over the coming weeks, metallurgical testing will commence in Q3 2026, integration of data and planning for further drilling are ongoing, and completion of the geophysical survey (3D IP) of the Oval Cu Ni area is planned for August 2026.
