Azzuro Resources (ASX:AZ9) confirms Red Hill copper gold continuity

Azzuro Resources has reported final assay results from its 2026 Phase 1 drilling program at the 100% owned Red Hill Copper Gold Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide Project in Mongolia, covering drillholes MU2609, MU2610, MU2610A and MU2611.

Highlights

MU2610 and MU2610A were collared approximately 85m south of MU2501 to test continuity of the massive sulphide system up dip of the earlier hole.

MU2610A was positioned approximately 4m west of MU2610 as a redrill after MU2610 encountered intensely oxidised, weathered ground and a large fault zone that caused substantial core and drilling fluid loss.

Completed to 153.0m, MU2610A confirmed the previously reported, extremely chalcopyrite rich interval of 2.0m at 33% chalcopyrite.

The assays also confirmed gold, silver and zinc within the deeper interval, returning 5.0m at 4.92% Cu, 0.94g/t Au, 5.05g/t Ag and 0.41% Zn from 142.5m, including 2.0m at 11.95% Cu, 1.99g/t Au, 11.80g/t Ag and 0.78% Zn from 143.85m.

Other results from MU2610A included 3.0m at 0.78% Cu from 96.0m, 2.0m at 0.28% Cu from 102.0m, 2.8m at 0.23% Cu from 106.4m and 4.0m at 0.19% Cu from 133.0m, while a separate shallower interval returned 1.9m at 6.80g/t Au and 67.30g/t Ag from 49.9m.

Red Hill is interpreted as a felsic VMS deposit hosted in dacitic and rhyolitic volcanics with associated black schists.

Mineralisation comprises a steeply north dipping massive sulphide lens carrying copper, gold, silver and zinc, folded by multiple deformations, with a near surface oxide gold silver zone developed north of the massive sulphide system.

A JORC 2012 Exploration Target of 15Mt to 30Mt at 0.71% to 0.90% Cu and 0.26g/t to 0.40g/t Au has been reported for Red Hill using a 0.2% Cu cut off, with the potential quantity and grade conceptual in nature.

There has been insufficient exploration to estimate a Mineral Resource, and it is uncertain whether further exploration will result in the estimation of a Mineral Resource.

Azzuro Managing Director Gan Ochir Zunduisuren said:

“A new phase of drilling is now commencing on the shallow gold zone, an area not included in our maiden JORC exploration target estimate.”

MU2609 was drilled northwest to test the western continuation of gold mineralisation approximately 85m west of MU2604.

It returned 10.8m at 0.45g/t Au and 10.72g/t Ag from 7.0m, including 3.0m at 0.84g/t Au and 9.20g/t Ag from 12.6m.

The hole also intersected previously unknown copper mineralisation north of the gold zone, returning 3.0m at 2.40% Cu and 0.02g/t Au from 44.0m.

MU2610 and MU2610A identified gold mineralisation south of the previously identified corridor, with results including 1.5m at 1.72g/t Au and 59.40g/t Ag from 35.0m in MU2610 and 3.0m at 0.27g/t Au and 16.20g/t Ag from 78.0m in MU2610A.

Assays from the Phase 1 program are complete, with Azzuro reporting high grade mineralisation in 8 of 14 holes across approximately 550m of strike and to an approximate depth of 150m.

Mineralisation remains open to the east, west and down dip, although all reported intercepts are downhole lengths and true widths have not been definitively determined.

The current program includes completing downhole electromagnetic surveys, integrating gravity, resistivity, chargeability and 3D gravity inversion datasets, completing tightly spaced drilling across the shallow gold mineralisation and testing the Exploration Target following receipt of the electromagnetic results.

Preliminary metallurgical flotation testing has also commenced on representative copper gold sulphide samples, with initial results expected in Q4 2026.
