American Tungsten & Antimony (ASX:AT4) produces antimony ingot at Del Sol
American Tungsten & Antimony has produced antimony ingot at the Del Sol Hydromet Refinery in Amargosa Valley, Nevada, using material from the White Spar Antimony Mine in Yavapai County, Arizona.
The company said the production demonstrates the US mine to metal pathway across the White Spar and Del Sol assets proposed to be acquired by AT4.
Highlights
Antimony ingot produced at Del Sol using material mined from White Spar.
Material mined in Arizona was processed at the permitted Nevada refinery.
No new processing infrastructure or permitting was required for the current campaign.
The leach and electrowinning circuit returned to operation ahead of schedule.
Independent analytical testing and product qualification will now progress.
The production campaign relates to AT4’s proposed acquisition of the White Spar and Del Sol assets, announced on 28 July 2026.
AT4 is conducting the campaign in cooperation with Nexus Metals under arrangements that allow agreed work programs to proceed before completion of the acquisition.
The Del Sol restart campaign commenced on 16 September 2026 and is being conducted using the existing facility configuration and within its permitted feed envelope.
Material from White Spar was processed through the leach and electrowinning circuit, with antimony flake subsequently converted into ingot using the refinery’s melters.
Independent analytical testing is under way, with AT4 yet to report the grade, purity or metallurgical recovery of the material.
Antimony ingot is an intermediary in the antimony value chain and enables the downstream production of products including antimony trisulphide and sodium antimonate.
Physical samples of the ingot will be used for independent analysis and submission into customer qualification processes.
Product qualification is a prerequisite for defence and industrial supply arrangements, with the samples supporting the company’s continuing engagement with prospective offtakers, US defence primes and government agencies.
AT4 Executive Chairman Timothy Morrison said the availability of physical material allowed the qualification process to begin.
“There is a clear difference between a company that intends to produce antimony in the United States and a company that has produced it. Qualification is the gate that every defense supply arrangement must pass through, and it cannot begin without physical material.”
The proposed acquisition has not completed, with AT4 having entered into a binding share sale and purchase agreement to acquire Nexus Metals, which holds, through Nexus Metals LLC, option and earn in rights relating to White Spar and Del Sol.
As at the date of the announcement, AT4 held no legal or beneficial interest in either asset, and the work being undertaken before completion does not constitute completion of the acquisition or confer any such interest in the assets on the company.
Completion remains conditional on shareholder approval at the general meeting scheduled for 21 September 2026, exercise of the Del Sol option, receipt of all necessary regulatory and 3rd party approvals and consents, and execution of voluntary escrow deeds.
The announcement states there is no certainty the acquisition will complete.
AT4 will progress independent analytical testing and product qualification of the ingot produced at Del Sol.
The restart campaign will continue to generate operating information from the existing circuit, while physical samples will support discussions with prospective offtakers, US defence primes and government agencies.
The announcement does not confirm any government funding, customer qualification or supply arrangement.
